My name is Mrs. Jessica Meyers. I attended Franklin Township Elementary School for seven years, during which time I realized that I wanted to be an elementary school teacher when I grew up! During those elementary school years, I was an active participant in recreational soccer, basketball, and softball as well as the drama club, band flute player! In addition, I joined the high school key club, served as a class officer, and was the treasurer of the National Honor Society.

After graduation, I worked as a substitute teacher before being offered a fourth grade position at VanDerveer.
This year is my thirteenth year of teaching fourth grade at VanDerveer, and every day is still as new and exciting as the day I set foot in the classroom for the first time! I am especially excited to be working with Mrs. Martin again this year. When I am not working, I spend most of my time taking care of my son, Lincoln, my husband, and my two cats. If I have free time, I enjoy cooking, playing sports, spending time with friends, and reading.
I have studied the language of Spanish and would now like to learn to speak French. My favorite hobby is traveling. My time studying in Madrid allowed me to explore many European cities, and these experiences sparked in me a great interest in seeing other cultures and learning about the histories of different places.
I'm hoping to take my next big trip to Greece!
